Liveaboard Mergui
departing from Phuket

With an almost non-existent tourism infrastructure in the area, Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago is home to a biodiversity that is untouched by urbanization. With 800 islands to explore, and a distance far away from the mainland, a liveaboard is the best way to explore the archipelago. Dive sites that are mapped out currently, are spread across the southwest coast of the archipelago. The Northern half, especially, has remained out of reach from negative spillovers of civilization, there are a variety of sites that is a sanctuary to a plethora of big and small creatures. The occasional Whale Shark, Nurse Shark, Devil Rays, Manta Rays, and other pelagic life are bountiful. Even macro-life is magnificent in the area. Dive sites here are just opening up as the country opens itself up to the rest of the world. There are much left to be explored in Myanmar's Burma Banks and the Mergui Archipelago.
